A Little More About Me
Hi, I’m Jo.
I’m a fully qualified and BACP accredited counsellor (MBACP Accred), offering a warm, supportive space for adults and young people.
My path into counselling has been shaped by both my professional background and life experience. I spent many years working within the Probation Service, supporting individuals and families through challenging situations, including domestic abuse and trauma.
Alongside this, I trained as a counsellor and went on to work at Noah’s Ark Counselling Centre and Calderdale Women’s Centre, supporting clients with a wide range of emotional and mental health needs.
I also spent seven years as the lead school counsellor at Bradford Grammar School, working with young people and staff, supporting issues such as anxiety, low mood, relationships, identity, academic pressure, & wellbeing.
I offer a calm, respectful space where you can feel safe, heard and understood, and begin to make sense of what’s going on for you.
How I work
I have an integrative, person-centred approach, which means therapy is led by your pace and what feels right for you.
I also draw on a range of approaches where helpful, always with your agreement, to support you in understanding your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
BACP accredited and committed to safe, ethical practice.
What To Expect
Your first session is a chance to talk about what's brought you here and what you're hoping for. There's no pressure to share everything at once, we go at your pace.
I offer a private & reflective space where you can feel comfortable to talk openly and begin to make sense of what's going on for you
We'll check in regularly to make sure the work feels helpful and right for you.
